seems that there are a few things that are the kiss of death for an application
1) one single bug and the user will delete
2) complexity. If the user feels they don't 
understand it they will instantly delete
3) rigid (user can't choose what they want it to do)

There was one more too, but I can't remember it. 

Thus, a successful application must be 3 things
1) completely and perfectly bug-free
2) very simple and not flashy
3) flexible - trust the user to choose what features they want to use

Oh yeah, and it has to do something useful :)</description>
